John Denver is a popular musician and singer who has touched a lot of people by his lyrics. Many of these were inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. grew up in Roswell New Mexico. However, he discovered love for Colorado. The singer-songwriter eventually made his way to Aspen. Many people traveled through Colorado due to Denver's famous anthems to his adopted state. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame says the fact that John Denver is unlike any other performer who has the recognizable image of Colorado. Denver was the very one of the first Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. Many consider Denver to be the symbol of Colorado. When you encounter people from other nations, for instance New Zealanders, and they ask them "I come Colorado" and they say "I am from Colorado" and they immediately respond with Oh John Denver. Brown clarified. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief time with folk bands and was his debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff wrote the song with Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver was introduced to an earlier version it was clear that it was destined to be the next hit single. The song was recorded just several weeks after that Washington D.C. performance.
